Sale conditions of wood are specified by the regulation of Director – General of the Sate Forests.
Within the framework of the individual sale , the foresters try to meet the fast growing demand, because more and more people use wood in order to heat their houses. Contrary to general opinion, these are not only village people, even though they prevail among recipients. The growth of firewood demand is the result of occurrence of new housing estates built in the suburbs of large agglomerations, where houses are usually equipped in fireplace heating installations.
Firewood is not only the most ecological heat source, but also is much more attractive in respect of relation of price and electric efficiency, rather than cola, oil, gas or electric power.
In recent years, the Sate Forests increased the sale of firewood of one third – up to over 4 million cubic meters annually. Some of customers choose already prepared and cut into pieces wood, the others very willingly obtain it by themselves after arranging all details and fulfilling particular safety conditions, and after paying the fee; that concerns mainly so called "thinnings". Such a raw material is very cheap, that is why many people from village areas profit from such possibility.

10 października obchodzimy Międzynarodowy „Dzień Drzewa” z tej okazji Nadleśnictwo Bircza przygotowało krótką informację o ciekawych drzewach jakie rosną na terenie naszego Nadleśnictwa.
W ramach gospodarki łąkowo - rolnej Nadleśnictwo pielęgnuje ponad 3 000 szt. starych drzew owocowych, które stanowią bazę żerową dla zwierzyny łownej (jeleń, sarna, dzik), zwierzyny chronionej (niedźwiedź), a także pozostałej drobnej zwierzyny i ptactwa. Dzięki prowadzonym zabiegom drzewa bardzo pięknie kwitną oraz intensywnie owocują. Zdjęcia zrobione w starym sadzie na terenie leśnictwa Wojtkówka.
Dąb szypułkowy (Quercus robur L.) Dąb jest symbolem długowieczności, dostojeństwa oraz siły. Dęby żyją ponad 1000 lat. Są bardzo cenione w przemyśle drzewnym ze względu na wytrzymałość, twardość oraz trwałość drewna. Dzięki majestatycznym rozmiarom jakie osiąga zwłaszcza przy mocno rozbudowanej koronie nazywany jest królem polskich drzew. Nasz prezentowany dąb rośnie w miejscowości Rudawka na terenie leśnictwa Jasienica. Obwód na wysokości 1,3m (pierśnicowy) wynosi 365 cm a jego wysokość to 25m.
Na terenie Nadleśnictwa Bircza bardzo ważnym gatunkiem jest Jodła pospolita (Abies alba Mill.) która w tym roku bardzo ładnie obrodziła. W Wyłączonych Drzewostanach Nasiennych których w Nadleśnictwie Bircza posiadamy 30,26 ha zebraliśmy 1300kg szyszek. Z zebranych szyszek pozyskamy nasiona a następnie wyprodukujemy sadzonki.
